Russell Hartmann watched the coin be flung a few feet into the air, nearly hover at the arc of the thin parabola and then fall glinting a flash of reflected sunlight into his eyes. Scott Williams noticing Russell's enchantment by the silver dime grabbed it and turned to Russell.

"This my friend is the world. This dime, no matter how little it may be worth, still intrigues a young middle class guy like yourself," stated the British Mercenary in an informative tone.

"What are you getting to?" replied Russell sitting up in his chair and closing the book he had borrowed from Scott. He then rested his head on his fist intrigued by his ally's proposition.

"This is the reason we are fighting a war right now. Every war fought since man crawled from the mud was fought for this. A simple piece of currency that in reality holds no value," replied Scott inspecting the famous Blue Nose schooner on the coin. His face scrunched up as the coin caught the sun coming in at a nearly flat angle. Soon the sun would fall beneath the trees and the room would become dark. Hiding the dust that was currently being illuminated by the sun.

"Maybe that's what you fight for, Patriot, but I'm not a mercenary. This for me is about King and Country," Russell replied showing Scott the green Canadian flag on his sweater. He tugged it bringing it only a few inches closer to Scott as if he had never seen it.

"You don't understand my Canadian friend. No war ever fought was about… King and Country. War is about Dollars and Cents. War is about Oil and Gold. War is the very physical embodiment of human nature on display for all to see. Human nature is collecting shiny things." Explained Scott in as much an elaborate way as possible.

"A lot coming from a Mercenary," smirked Russell believing he had pinned Scott.

"Well I'm just accepting that. I'm making sure not only the Politicians who win the war get the riches. I accept that I am only human and want shiny things."
Another on of my character sketches for Red Skies. This is the main character Russel Hartmann with his wingman Scott Williams in the story Forgotten Aces(Maybe coming soon. We'll see). They are having a little conversation between sorties about the meaning of the war they are fighting. Based off of the Network-Money Speech
