A bit has changed since the war started in late 1799. As 1802 RT approaches, the Arcean's have been pushing to gain a technological edge on the battlefield.

The most basic and obvious advance is that Arcean Air Marines have begun to adopt more muted uniform tones (reg infantry still wears the classic white uniforms). Grey's are the most common while tans are being used by soldiers serving in the Ghurrkan regions and Enshaw. None the less, they still use coloured cuffs to mark the region the unit is from. Soldiers from Syerdawn have blue and gold, Rostef green and gold and Sudfell red and gold. All other regions use blue and gold.

Due to South Arcea-West Hoffnungia's ongoing campaign in the Hoffnung West, the Arcean Republic's Security Section 4 has managed to gain silenced South Arcean weapons. In turn, the Arcean's have reverse engineered the designs, creating the Vanlewisporte Steel S 8.7 a 4 shot bold action rifle with a built in silencer. Hawksley Iron Works in Syerdawn has also produced the Nightstalker, a revolver with a built in silencer. At this point, neither Arcea nor South Arcea have managed to produced a weapon with a detachable silencer, meaning that these weapons are only used on occasion.

The biggest advancement the Arcean's have achieved is in how they deploy Air Marines. Historically, airships would have to land to deploy soldiers. Thanks to the linerider system, Air Marines can be deployed from cruise altitude, quickly and effectively. Effectively, the soldiers ride in on a mix between a zip-line and a personal gondola. It takes away the danger of being blown of course that parachutes carry. It also greatly reduces the likelihood of being spotted as soldiers come down far more quickly on a linerider than they would floating down on a parachute.
