A Nordvestian

Playing around with a different presentation style. I feel like I've improved enough since this ravajava.deviantart.com/art/Te… to justify it. 

Tereza Skalicky was born in Chernervitsi, Nordvest in 1791. Only 9 when the great war started, her family was among the hundreds of thousands of refugees who fled the country during the Shirudo invasion and later occupation. The family spent the first half of the war in a refugee camp in Karelia before gaining residence in Castigan, Arcea. 

These early years were a major influence on her, bringing her to hate Shirudans with a passion not shared with many Arceans. Her opinion of Karelians has also been rather sour, as they failed to leave Nordvest when the war ended. Despite her parents attempts to steer her away from the military, she ultimately joined regardless, going to the Republican Officers College of Vanlewisporte. 

Tereza made a name for herself there, showing exceptional skill commanding airships, with a notable capacity to think of strategy in the three dimensional space airships operate in. Her passionate but controversial papers on airship design and tactics also became rather popular reading among the Republican Air Force's command and the Warhawk party, giving her connections in high places before she even left College. Graduating among the top 5 of her class, she was fast tracked to captaining an airreduit. After several successful tours in Seabring fighting against Hoffnung militants and Antikori fighting Scaran pirates, she found herself on the flagship of the Arcean fleet, the ARAS Vanguard. 

After the Vanguards previous captain was promoted to Admiral of the Massin fleet, she became captain of the Vanguard. Becoming the youngest person to lead the flagship, first woman and the first Nordvestian to do so in Arcea. 

For the last two years she's been the captain of the Vanguard, although she's been rather frustrated by the fact that the ship spends most of its time ferrying the President between diplomatic meetings and international conferences. Although, this has given her time to continue writing rather influential articles on airship tactics and design, which have begun to challenge the works of Devran Von Lark, which have driven airship design and tactics for almost 50 years. 

Outside of her professional career, her personal life has been less stable. Married, like most Nordvestian woman, at the young age of 18, to a older Nordvestian man, Tereza had a child shortly before going to College. After her career began to take flight and she did not return home raise her child as her husband and parents had expected, she was divorced, her husband running to the now Karelian operated Nordvest. Since then, Tereza had on and off relationships with various men, but never quite got along with any of them. She has largely given up on finding her son, which often frustrates her.
