Wanted to share this excellent article from Artstation by Daniel McGarry, a UK based concept artist. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/03Pbz4 I think Daniel summarised the situation better than I could. That said, I do think it is worth noting the particular threat AI generated images, as it currently stands, poses to non-professional spaces like DeviantArt. While Artstation has emerged as the go to place for industry professionals, DeviantArt had been able to exist as a space for the hobbyist and non-professional, with communities forming to urge each other on for the sake of the craft itself. If AI art continues to dominate the site, I believe that will greatly diminish the number of people who will be willing to pursue art for the craft, and it will devalue any and all images posted to the site in general. So, I am probably not the only person who feels the flood of AI generated content on dA is really ruining the experience. Well, it's not perfect, but Muting those tags has largely filtered the spam for me. I can't help but feel dA is inviting a decline akin to sites like wordpress by allowing all of this, but I digress. Anyways, hope this helps someone else out.
